ADMT Does Not Migrate the Exchange System Attendant Service (300628)

SYMPTOMS

When you migrate service accounts from a Windows NT 4.0-based domain with Microsoft Exchange 5.5 installed, the discovery of the Exchange Service account does not work if the same account is used for all of the Exchange services. The blocking service is this case is the Exchange System Attendant service, which must use a separate account from the other Exchange services for the Active Directory Migration tool (ADMT) discovery to be successful.

RESOLUTION

You must manually migrate the account that is used to run the Exchange System Attendant.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
