Cannot Change Settings for Communication Port Number (300342)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the communication port number settings (Unencrypted or Encrypted) after you install agents, the new settings do not flow to the agents until the next scanning cycle of the Agent Manager.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, manually force a scanning cycle:
  1. Start the Microsoft Operations Manager MMC.
  2. Expand Configuration.
  3. Click the Agent Managers folder.
  4. In the right pane, double-click the Agent Manager.
  5. In the Agent Manager Properties dialog box, click the Managed Computer Scan tab.
  6. Click Scan managed computers now.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
