Alerts State "Attribute Does Not Exist" After Upgrade from Operations Manager 3.3 to MOM (300335)

The alerts state that OnePoint Operations is looking for formula attributes that do not exist after the upgrade, or that have been renamed and do not match.

Operations Manager 3.3 contains the Microsoft Windows Security management pack. This management pack includes processing rule groups that are associated with computer rules, and the attributes that those computer rules reference have been changed in MOM. Because the management pack is not a part of MOM, it cannot be upgraded.

The computer rule groups that generate the alerts are:

• The NetIQ Operations Manager or Security Manager 3.30 Agents and Consolidator computer rule group generates an alert when it cannot find the NetIQ Operations Manager and Security Manager Agent attribute.
• The High Security Risk Windows 2000 Computers and the High Security Risk Windows NT 4.0 Computers computer rule groups both generate an alert when they cannot find the NetIQ Operations Manager or Security Manager Consolidator attribute.

Alerts also appear if you have created custom computer rules that have an association to old attributes. The alerts do not appear if you upgrade to MOM from Operations Manager 3.22 Service Pack 1 (SP1) because these rules do not exist in Operations Manager 3.22 SP1.

Event Viewer records Event ID 21101 for each alert. You can view the alerts in the MOM Microsoft Management Console. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager, expand Monitor, and then expand All Open Alerts.
