Scan Option in MOM Console Does Allow Agent Removal (300317)

When you manually install a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) agent and you then click the Scan option (for Agent Manager Control), you can have the Agent Manager remove the agent through the MOM Administrator console, contrary to the information that appears under the Scan option.

The Scan option specifies that the Agent Manager only collects system attributes and that you must manually upgrade or remove agent software. However, if you click Uninstall Now in the Agent Manager properties in the MOM Administrator console, the Agent Manager does in fact remove the selected MOM agent.
