User Data Sent from NetMeeting 2.x Causes Problems in NetMeeting 3 (299913)

SYMPTOMS

Unexpected user data sent from NetMeeting 2.11 causes an access violation in NetMeeting 3.0.

CAUSE

The NetMeeting 3.0 code assumes that the user data must contain a globally unique identifier (GUID).

RESOLUTION

Windows 2000

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
