SYMPTOMS

Passport Manager encryption is failing after you change the network cards on the server.

CAUSE

Part of the encryption key on a server is generated from the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the primary network card.

RESOLUTION

If you have changed the primary network card, you must reinstall the Passport Manager object and all encryption keys on your Web server.

MORE INFORMATION

If you have servers with only one network card, but that network card is not functioning properly, you may also see this problem.
