OL2002: POP3 Server Port Numbers Are Limited to Four Digits (299841)

When you configure the Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) e-mail service, you can reconfigure the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) port numbers on the Advanced tab, but you are limited to a four digit number.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use TCP/IP port numbers that have only four digits.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
