When you attempt to install Microsoft Office, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Installer terminated prematurely.
When you click OK, you receive the following error message:
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you attempt to install CD2 of the Office 2000 CD-ROM package without restarting the computer after you install CD1.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, restart the computer after you install CD1, and then install CD2. If you receive the error message again, browse to the Knowledge Base article referenced in the "More Information" section of this article.
