PPT2001: Notes Are Not Displayed with the Correct Slides (299722)

SYMPTOMS

After you create a Microsoft PowerPoint slide presentation with notes on the Notes pages, save the presentation as a Web page, and then preview it in a browser, the notes on the Notes pages may not be displayed with the correct slides.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you rearrange the slide order of your presentation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download and install the Microsoft Office 2001 Service Release 1 file. To do so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac Service Release 1.

To resolve this issue in your existing Web presentation after Service Release 1 (SR-1) is installed, follow these steps:
  1. Locate and open either the original presentation file or the copy of the presentation saved in the {file name}_files folder created when you saved the presentation as a Web page.
  2. On the File menu, click Save as Web Page.
  3. Give the Web presentation a name, and then save it to the appropriate location.
Your notes should now be displayed with the appropriate slides.
