Error Message Cites an Alert as the Reason That You Cannot Delete a Processing Rule Group (299578)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to delete a Processing Rule Group, an error message may display the following explanatory text:
This rule group may not be deleted because one or more rules in this group is associated with an alert.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if there are open alerts that this rule group generated. The open alerts prevent safe deletion of the rule group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior and successfully remove the rule group, first resolve any open alerts that the rule group generated. After the grooming process removes these alerts, you can delete the rule group.
