256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry

SUMMARY

When you schedule a conference with the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server Web Conference Scheduler, Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) uses the local time zone of the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server computer. If the TimeZoneID value is not explicitly set on the appointment, CDO uses the first time zone that matches the bias of the local time zone. For example, in Beijing, China, the time zone is displayed as Singapore.

MORE INFORMATION

To reflect local time more accurately, the Exchange 2000 Web Conference Scheduler can read the TimeZoneID from a registry key, if you set that registry key. Please note that to set this registry key, Exchange Conferencing 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) must be installed on the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server. To obtain a particular service pack for Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server, contact Microsoft Product Support Services. For additional information about the support options available from Microsoft, visit the following Microsoft Web site: After you set the following registry key, the times that are passed to CDO are local times. The setting of the time zone to coordinated universal time (UTC) on the Configuration object is removed.

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To set the registry key that overrides the TimeZoneID value:
  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate and click the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\EXCHANGE CONFERENCING\PARAMETERS

  3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

    Value name: Web Access TimeZoneID
    Data type: REG_DWORD
    Radix: Decimal
Value data: n, where n is the time zone ID as defined in the Cdoex.idl file

  4. Quit Registry Editor.
