Error 53 When Contacting a WINS Proxy Computer (299471)

When you try to map a network drive to a computer that acts as a Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) proxy, the mapping operation may not work and you may receive the following error message:
Error 53
The network path was not found.
CAUSE
A problem in the NetBT name cache can cause IP addresses in the local name cache to be overwritten with the loopback address (127.0.0.1).
This causes the WINS proxy computer to answer name queries with 127.0.0.1.
