Event ID 2 with "XLR Cannot Connect to Active Directory" Error Occurs After You Change the IP address (299395)

SYMPTOMS

After you change the Internet protocol (IP) address of your Mobile Information Server computer, the following event ID message may be logged in the event log:

Event ID: 2
Source: MobiInfo
Category: None
Description:
XLR cannot connect to Active Directory. Make sure your domain controller is accessible.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if a site name is not available for this computer.

RESOLUTION

Tp resolve this issue, define a subnet for the site:
  1. Start the Active Directory Sites and Services snap-in.
  2. Click to expand the Sites container.
  3. Right-click the Subnet container, click New, and then click Subnet.
  4. Type the subnet address and mask. This setting is automatically translated into a subnet name in the following format:

    network/bits-masked
