Visio2002: No "Disk Full" Warning When You Save Stencil (299247)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to save a stencil in Microsoft Visio, the Save operation appears to be completed successfully, but then you may be unable to find the saved stencil file (*.vss).

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Visio does not warn you when you do not have enough disk space to save the stencil, in which case, the Save operation is not completed successfully.

NOTE: This behavior is more likely to occur on a small media type like a floppy disk.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete unwanted files on your computer's hard disk to create sufficient room to save the stencil, and then repeat the Save operation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
