CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Save as command on the File menu is used to save the Web site map as a stencil or XML stencil. Visio does not perform the save operation correctly.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, create a new stencil, and then drag the shapes that you want from your Web site map to the stencil. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Visio, and then open your Web site map diagram.
  2. On the File menu, point to Stencils, and then click New Stencil.
  3. Open the Filter window that is docked in the lower left border of the Web site map drawing area.
  4. Click the plus sign beside each shape in the Filter window to expand the group.
  5. Drag the shapes that you want from the Filter window to the new stencil.
  6. When you have finished creating your stencil, right-click the stencil title bar, and then click Save.
  7. In the Save as type box, click Stencil (*.vss) or XML Stencil (*.vsx) . Specify a name and location where you want to save the file, and then click Save.
