The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional

This article was previously published under Q299218

SYMPTOMS

When you convert an AutoCAD drawing to Microsoft Visio format, object dimensions may not be converted to Visio dimensions as expected. If you resize the object, the dimension labels do not change to reflect the new size.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the AutoCAD drawing is saved in paper space. Objects with dimensions that are saved in paper space look and behave like a picture.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, save the AutoCAD drawing in model space. Consult the Help files and manual for the CAD program that you are using for more information.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
