Visio2000: When You Trigger an Event, Another Program May Be Started Unexpectedly (299174)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visio 2000 Standard Edition
- Microsoft Visio 2000 Professional Edition
- Microsoft Visio 2000 Technical Edition
- Microsoft Visio 2000 Enterprise Edition
This article was previously published under Q299174 SYMPTOMS
When you trigger an event in Microsoft Visio, the event may unexpectedly start another program.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the event uses the RUNADDON function to start a program. The string in the RUNADDON function can be the path, including the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path, to any executable program. There is nothing in this protocol that prevents unsafe programs from running.
STATUSThis problem was corrected in Visio 2002.
