Visio2002: Undo Command Does Not Restore Wall Positions in Room Shapes as Expected (299121)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
This article was previously published under Q299121 SYMPTOMS
When you resize any of the following shapes from the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil in Microsoft Visio
- "L" Room shape
- "T" Room shape
and then attempt to undo the resize operation, the shape may not be restored to its previous form as expected.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
- You resize either of the shapes listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article by repositioning the walls in either of these shapes.
-and- - You attempt to undo the action by using the Undo command.
The Undo command may not undo the resize operation correctly. As a result, the walls of the room shape may not be positioned exactly as they were before the resize operation.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, delete the distorted room shape from your drawing, and then replace it with a new shape from the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Visio, and then open your drawing.
- If the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil is not already open, point to Stencils on the File menu, point to Building Plan, and then click Walls, Shell and Structure.
- On your drawing page, select the distorted shape, and then press DELETE.
- Drag a new room shape from the Walls, Shell and Structure stencil to your drawing page.
- Resize the room shape by dragging the yellow control handles or green selection handles on individual walls.
