How to add a Personal Address Book to an Outlook profile in Outlook 2002 and in Outlook 2003 (299008)

SUMMARY

If you decide not to import your Personal Address Book during the initial installation of Microsoft Outlook, you can add a Personal Address Book to an Outlook profile at a later time.

Although the Personal Address Book is now replaced with Contacts in Outlook as your default contacts container, you can still use both.

Use the following steps to add a Personal Address Book to your Outlook profile:
  1. Start Microsoft Outlook.
  2. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
  3. Click Add a new directory or address book, and then click Next.
  4. Click Additional Address Books, and then click Next.
  5. Click Personal Address Book, and then click Next.
  6. The properties of the Personal Address Book will appear. Click OK when you receive the following prompt:

    The E-mail Account you have just added will not start until you choose Exit from the File menu, and then restart Microsoft Outlook.

  7. Quit Outlook.
The next time that you launch Outlook, your Personal Address Book will be available.
