SYMPTOMS

When you save a UDL file, the Connect Timeout (DBPROP_INIT_TIMEOUT) value is not persisted.

This behavior is by design.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Open a UDL file
  2. On the Provider tab, click Microsoft OLE BD Provider for SQL Server.
  3. On the Summary (All) tab, set a valid value for Connect Timeout, and then click OK.
  4. Open the UDL file again. Notice that the Connect Timeout value is not set.
