TV Photo Viewer: Program Stops Responding When You Browse Folder to Add Pictures (298665)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add pictures to an album in Microsoft TV Photo Viewer, TV Photo Viewer may stop responding (hang) while you browse the folder that you are getting your pictures from.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the folder contains images based on the TIFF (Tag Image File Format) graphic format. The TIFF format varies according to the program in which the image was created and saved.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, save the TIFF files in a different format, such as JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group). Place the new files in a different folder for browsing to when you want to add them to the TV Photo Viewer Album.
