SYMPTOMS

After you import playlists or open a group of files in Windows Media Player, the album, artist, track name, and so one (also know as the metadata) may not be displayed; however, when you play the file, all of the metadata is displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the player does not open the file to read the metadata until you play the file.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
