Visio2000: Cannot Print from Open Document Management API (ODMA) System (297494)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a Microsoft Visio file by using a document management system (such as Docs Open by PC Docs), you may receive the following error message:

This application does not support printing from the desktop, or DDE commands for printing have not been defined for this application.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Visio does not support the Open Document Management API (ODMA) printing method using Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), which the document management system requires.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, open the file in Visio, and then click Print on the File menu.
