SYMPTOMS

Changing the master volume level for an ADI AD1885 sound device does not control the volume for headphones that are connected to the device.

CAUSE

RESOLUTION

This sound device is installed by a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). To resolve this issue, obtain an updated driver from your OEM.

MORE INFORMATION

The ADI AD1885 sound device is detected by Windows 2000 only after the Intel ICH2 driver has been installed. The driver is available for downloading from the following Intel Web site: The updated driver that is supplied by Intel is also available at this location.
