SYMPTOMS

On Windows 2000, when you attempt to dial by using a Creative Modem Blaster USB DE5670, your computer may hang and you may not receive any error messages. You may still access some items on the computer, but the response time is very slow. If you attempt to cancel the dial-up connection, the computer does not respond for up to several minutes.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the driver for the Creative Modem Blaster USB DE5670 is incompatible with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact Creative Labs directly or refer to the following Creative Labs Web site for information about a possible driver update: NOTE: If you restart the computer and attempt to dial again, you may enable the modem to initialize and work properly.
