ActiveX Document Embedded in .chm File Does Not Load (297026)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) Help Uniform Resource Locator (URL) protocols to view an ActiveX document that is embedded within the .chm file, the ActiveX control may display a blank document.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if Internet Explorer did not initiate a new binding within the Shdocvw.dll file for the new document request for the Mk:@MSITStore:// protocol.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Internet Explorer version 5.5. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Internet Explorer version 5.5 Service Pack 2.
