This article was previously published under Q296363 SYMPTOMS After you upgrade from an earlier version of Microsoft
Internet Explorer to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or Microsoft Windows XP,
your cookies settings are not retained as expected.CAUSE This issue occurs because cookie settings, which are
configured on the Security tab of Internet
Options in Internet Explorer 4 and 5 (or on the
Advanced tab in Internet Explorer 3), are removed when you
upgrade to Internet Explorer 6. A new Privacy tab has been
added to the Internet Options dialog box to configure cookie
settings for the Internet zone. WORKAROUND To work around this issue, configure your cookie settings
to the level that you want by using the new Privacy tab.
