SYMPTOMS

If you open an Internet Options dialog box, and you then click Internet Options, a second Internet Options dialog box is opened.

As a result, changes you make in one of the Internet Options dialog boxes are not refelected in the other Internet Options dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs in the following situation:
  1. You open the Internet Options dialog box from within the Microsoft Internet Explorer Help window.
  2. You click Internet Options on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, close one of the Internet Options dialog boxes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
