SYMPTOMS

When you set up Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) on a computer that runs Windows 2000 Server, and you restrict access control lists (ACL) so that no one except an administrator can create a newsgroup on the server, you can create the newsgroup name even though you are not an administrator.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
