SUMMARY

This article describes how to manually delete an unused Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) provider.

MORE INFORMATION

When you disable or delete the Rules that use a provider, the provider is not automatically deleted. This behavior is by design and does not affect performance.

The individual MOM processing rules specify the provider to use. If no existing rule refers to a specific provider, that provider is simply ignored. However, you can manually delete an unused provider:
  1. In the MOM Administrator Console, expand Microsoft Operations Manager (Default), expand Rules, expand Advanced, and click Providers.
  2. In the right pane, select the provider.
  3. Right-click the provider, and then click Delete.
