SYMPTOMS

When you press the CLOSE hot key on the Microsoft Office Keyboard, you may not receive the expected results.

The CLOSE hot key function relies on the program in which you are using it to recognize the universal keyboard shortcut CTRL+F4. If the program does not recognize this shortcut command, the CLOSE hot key does not perform as expected. The following programs do not use the CTRL+F4 shortcut:

To determine whether a given program recognizes the CTRL+F4 shortcut, click the File menu. If the File menu includes a Close command, this program should respond when you press the CLOSE hot key.
