Windows Me May Hang If Left Unattended on the First Boot (295440)

If a dialog box that prompts you to reboot a new Windows Me-based computer is left unattended for ten minutes or more, the computer may stop responding (hang). This problem can occur after Windows Me detects a new network adapter and prompts you to reboot the computer.
Note that you should not leave the dialog box unattended for 10 minutes or more.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem after it occurs, turn your computer off and then back on again.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in some preinstalled versions of Windows Me.
