Watermark and WordArt shading appears dithered on Terminal Server-based instance of Word (295354)

When you create a watermark on a Microsoft Office Word document, or insert WordArt into the header or footer of a Word document, the shaded portion of the watermark or the WordArt may appear dithered instead of shaded.
Or, portions of the watermark or WordArt may appear shaded as expected, but the shaded image may change to a dithered image when you scroll through the document.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you open or create a Word 2002 document in any edition of Microsoft Office XP that is installed on a Microsoft Terminal Server client.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, open the document in a local installation of Word 2002.
NOTE: Word documents created on a Terminal Server-based installation of Office XP are displayed and printed as expected on a local installation of Word.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
