XL2002: Script Error When You Export to Excel from Internet Explorer (294973)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Export to Microsoft Excel command in Internet Explorer, you receive the following error message:

CAUSE

This problem occurs when Microsoft Excel is in Reduced Functionality Mode.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you must activate your copy of Microsoft Office XP. To do this, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: Activate from the Start Menu

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Activate Product.
  2. In the Activation Wizard, choose the activation method that you want to use (by Internet or by telephone), and then click Next.
  3. Complete the steps in the Activation Wizard and then click Finish.

Method 2: Activate Within Microsoft Excel

  1. Start Microsoft Excel.
  2. If the Activation Wizard does not immediately appear, click Activate Product on the Help menu.
  3. In the Activation Wizard, choose the activation method that you want to use (by Internet or by telephone), and then click Next.
  4. Complete the steps in the Activation Wizard and then click Finish.
