XCON: Mail Does Not Flow After You Move Exchange Server 5.5 Computer to a Different Routing Group (294829)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q294829 SYMPTOMS
After you move a Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 computer from one routing group to another routing group, or rename a routing group that contains an Exchange Server 5.5 computer, mail may not flow correctly beyond this routing group. This issue arises most often if the Exchange Server 5.5 computer is an X.400 or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) bridgehead server (Internet Mail Service), and has the Connected Sites tab populated on these connectors.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. MORE INFORMATION
In Exchange System Manager, you can drag an Exchange Server 5.5 computer from one routing group to another routing group if you are an Exchange 2000 administrator. You can also rename a routing group that contains one or more Exchange Server 5.5 computers. Although there is nothing in Exchange System Manager that prevents these actions, these procedures are neither recommended nor supported.
