OL2001: Delegate and Attendant Permission Options Are Not Available in Sharing Preferences (294650)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q294650 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to set delegate and attendant permissions, all of the options for this operation are not available in the Sharing section.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because your delivery location is set to a personal folder (.pst) file. Permissions and messages that are associated with delegate access to Outlook 2001 for Mac items cannot be processed when the delivery is set to a .pst file.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, set the delivery point to the Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox. To do this:
- On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
- In the Mail section, click Delivery.
- Click the Delivery New Mail to the Following Locations list, and then click Mailbox - <User Name>.
- Click OK, and then restart Outlook 2001 for Mac.
After you set the Exchange Server mailbox as the delivery point, you can set delegate permissions.
