  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

This article was previously published under Q294203

SUMMARY

The Outlook E-mail Security Update can only be administered in a Microsoft Exchange Server environment. If you use third-party e-mail servers, centralized administration of Outlook 2002 security settings is not possible.

Microsoft provides documentation about how to implement the Outlook E-mail Security Update in a Microsoft Exchange Server environment. To become familiar with general information about the security update or its administrative features, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

MORE INFORMATION

In previous versions of Microsoft Outlook, it was possible to administer the security settings while you were connected to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) OpenMail server. The HP OpenMail transport does not support Microsoft Outlook 2002, and you cannot administer security settings for Outlook 2002 clients.
