Changes Are Not Applied When You Configure a Management Agent to Use Deltas to Send Updates (293321)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Metadirectory Services 2.1
- Microsoft Metadirectory Services 2.2
This article was previously published under Q293321 SYMPTOMS
After you configure a Microsoft Metadirectory Services (MMS) Management Agent (MA) to use deltas when it sends updates to the connected directory, imported changes are not applied.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you selected the Use metadirectory deltas to update Directory Name check box on the Operations tab. To open this tab, click the Operate action of an MA, and then click the Operational Settings tab.
When you click to select the Use Directory Name deltas to update metadirectory check box on the Operations tab, and then click to select the Use metadirectory deltas to update Directory Name check box, the Use Directory Name deltas to update metadirectory check box is disabled. These check boxes are mutually exclusive (the check boxes do not reinforce this fact). If you click to select the Use metadirectory deltas to update Directory Name check box, you are not able to make any updates to the metadirectory, regardless of the mode.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- Click the MA
- On the Actions menu, click Operate MA.
- Click the Operational Settings tab.
- Click the Delta Operations tab.
- Click to clear the Use metadirectory deltas to update Directory name check box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
