OL2002: Error Messages Appear Repeatedly When You Use Word to Send Mail Without Outlook 2002 Installed (293007)

When you create a document in Word and then click E-mail on the Standard toolbar, without having Outlook 2002 installed, the New Profile dialog box may appear. When you click Cancel, the following series of error messages appears:
No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Control Panel.
The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.
The New Profile dialog box and the error messages may appear more than once before you can return to the Word document.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, create a new profile:
- In Control Panel, double-click Mail, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
- Click Microsoft Exchange Server, and then click Next.
- Type the server name in the Microsoft Exchange Server box, type a user name, and then click Finish.
- Start Word, and then try again to create a message.
