FP2002: Multiple E-Mail Notifications Are Sent When You Copy Files to a Document Library Folder (292693)
The information in this article applies to:
- FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft
This article was previously published under Q292693 SYMPTOMS
When you use a drag-and-drop operation to copy a Web page (or any group of files or folders) to a Document Library Web folder on a SharePoint team Web site, you may receive a separate e-mail notification for each file copied to the Document Library folder.
You expect to only receive one e-mail, informing you that the Web page document is awaiting your approval.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions are true:
- You use a drag-and-drop operation to copy several files (such as a Web page) to a Web folder on a SharePoint team Web site.
-and- - The folder that you are copying the files to is a Document Library folder.
-and- - The Request approval for documents option is selected for the Document Library folder.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, save the Web page directly to the SharePoint team Web site by using the Microsoft Office XP program that you use to create or edit the Web page.
For example, if you use Microsoft Word 2002 to create a Web page, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Save as Web page.
- In the File name box, type the file name and the full path to the Document Library folder on the SharePoint team Web site.
For example, type http://servername/Document Library/filename.htm. - Click Save.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
