WD2002: Duplicate Formatting Changes Displayed in a Rich Text Format Document (292123)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a document and view the formatting changes in the Reviewing pane, duplicate entries appear. For example, the formatting change is duplicated, but the author of the duplicate change is displayed as Unknown and no date or time stamp is displayed.

CAUSE

This problem can occur in the following situation:
  • You place text in a table that is inserted in a document.

    -and-
  • You turn on the Track Changes feature(on the Tools menu, click Track Changes).

    -and-
  • You format text in the inserted table.

    -and-
  • You save the document in Rich Text Format.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
