Web site map misses Microsoft Project files (291990)

SYMPTOMS

When you generate a Web site map, Microsoft Project (*.mpp) files are not found or included in the site map.

CAUSE

Microsoft Visio incorrectly lists the file name extension for Microsoft Project files as "prj" instead of "mpp".

RESOLUTION

To correct the Microsoft Project file name extension, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Visio.
  2. On the File menu, point to New, point to Web Diagram, and then click Web Site Map.
  3. In the Generate Site Map dialog box, click Settings.
  4. In the Web Site Map Settings dialog box, click the Extensions tab.
  5. In the Name column, click Document, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Modify Extensions dialog box, click prj in the Extension List.
  7. In the Extension box, type mpp. Click OK twice.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
