OL2002: Error Message: "The Operation Failed" When You Save a Recurring Lunar Appointment (291524)

SYMPTOMS

When you create either a monthly or yearly recurring Lunar appointment and save the Lunar appointment in the iCalendar format, you may receive the following error message:
The operation failed.
The appointment does save, and if you try to open the saved appointment, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot import vCalendar file.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, set the appointment option for Gregorian instead of Lunar.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
