Delegates can view items that are marked as private in an Inbox if the owner gives them permission for both the Inbox and the Calendar, and if the owner enables the Delegates can see my private items option.
MORE INFORMATION
The ability to view private items was only intended for Calendar views. However, if the owner enables the Delegates can see my private items option, delegates can view private items in other folder views if permission is granted to both the folder where the private item is present and to the Calendar folder.
