System Information Incorrectly Identifies Windows Powered Computers as Running Advanced Server (289192)

SYMPTOMS

On Windows Powered computers, the System Information snap-in reports incorrectly that the operating system is Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you set Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to identify operating systems and hardware.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
