XFOR: Time Stamp on Messages from cc:Mail May Be Incorrect (288632)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
This article was previously published under Q288632 SUMMARY
When a Lotus cc:Mail user sends a message to an Exchange user by way of the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus cc:Mail, the Sent Time may be incorrect on the received message. The Sent Time reflects the time that the cc:Mail user sent the message, in their time zone, and not in the time zone of the person that is using Exchange.
MORE INFORMATION
This behavior is by design. The exported message file that cc:Mail delivers, which is a .ccm file, does not make reference to a time zone. When the Exchange server receives the message, it assumes that the message was sent in the same time zone as its own because there is no reference in the .ccm file that indicates otherwise.
