Meaning: Application Center could not connect to the remote COM or remote procedure call (RPC) server. Either the computer is not available or the name is incorrect.

Effect: The task cannot be completed. Troubleshoot the problem and retry the task.

Possible Causes and Solutions

Server not available: The member is not turned on, has been renamed, or has been disconnected from the network.

Also investigate:
  • Try to contact the member by typing ping [server name] at the command line.
  • Disk failure on the member.
  • Network failure.
  • Power failure.
