Sites and Subnet Information Is Not Populated After Discovering Those Objects (288560)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Metadirectory Services 2.2
This article was previously published under Q288560 SYMPTOMS
When Active Directory Management Agent is discovering site and subnet information, the Configuration container is the only object that is processed, even though you explicitly configured the Site, SubnetContainer, and Subnet object classes to be discovered in the Configure Management Agent section in Active Directory Management Agent.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because after discovery, in the properties of the Configuration container, the Domain Controller Host Name box is empty.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, manually populate the Domain Controller Host Name box of the Configuration container with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller. To do so, follow these steps:
- Start the Management Agent service:
- From the Action panel, click Operate MA.
- Click Run Management Agent.
- Manually Populate the Domain Controller Host Name box of the Configuration container:
- To simplify this process, right-click the root domain object of the imported objects, and then click Properties.
- Copy the contents of the Domain Controller Host Name box.
- Right-click the Configuration container object, and then click Properties.
- Paste the content that you copied in step 2b into the Domain Controller Host Name box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
