OL2001: Error Message: The Set of Folders Could Not Be Opened... (288509)

SYMPTOMS

If you have previously used a version of Outlook for Macintosh Exchange Server Edition with an offline folder after you installed Outlook 2001 for Mac and you make a copy of the offline folder (.ost) file when you log on to Outlook for Macintosh Exchange Server Edition as instructed, you may receive the following error message when you start the newer version of Outlook 2001 for Mac:
The set of folders could not be opened. The Exchange Server has detected that you are using an old copy of your OST file. Please delete your OST file and create a new one from the server.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because a message was composed and sent while you were offline with the older client using the original offline folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, create a new offline folder to use with the older version of Outlook for Macintosh Exchange Server Edition.
