OL2001: You Cannot Drag an Appointment from a Calendar to Another Calendar (288479)

When you try to drag an appointment from one Calendar folder to another Calendar Folder, the mouse cursor changes to a circle with a slash mark (/) through it to indicate that the action cannot be completed.

How to Move Standard and Recurring Appointments to Alternate Calendars
The process of moving standard and recurring appointments to alternate calendars is similar. Use the following steps to move standard, non-recurring appointments:
- Click the appointment that you want to copy to the alternate calendar.
- On the Actions menu, click Forward. A message is created with the appointment embedded in it.
- Drag the appointment to the alternate calendar.
Use the following steps to move recurring appointments to an alternate calendar:
- On the File menu, click New, and then click Mail Message.
- On the Edit menu, click Insert, and then click Item.
- In Insert Message, click the calendar that has the appointment in it, and then locate the appointment in the Items box.
- Verify that the Insert As An Attachment check box is selected, and then click OK.
- Drag the embedded appointment to the alternate calendar.

The problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section of this article occurs when you try to drag the appointment to a Calendar folder in a personal folders (.pst) file or a Public folder.
